Veggie Burgers


The plan for dinner was Black Bean burgers. We failed at the first hurdle, couldn't see any cans of black beans at the supermarket. The first substitution was black eyed beans. And those were not easy to mash! The Beloved tried a few methods, and resorted to the blender, But instead of a bean mash, it was more a dry 'meal'. A little water was added to get it to a better consistency, and when I left the room a bit too much water was added. To combat this extra oats joined the mix too 'sook it up'. 

I knew the spices were going to be a point of departure. I used cumin, pepper, and mixed herbs. There were some cooked peppers in the fridge, and these were chopped and added. Oh, and a dash of liquid smoke too.

So, all in all, I've followed the recipe quite well.
